If the diesel generator "strikes" in use due to improper maintenance, the consequences are unimaginable. Engine fuel

In autumn and winter, due to the low temperature, the viscosity of diesel fuel increases and the fluidity becomes poor, resulting in the diesel oil is not easy to spray, resulting in poor atomization and even deterioration of combustion, so that the power and economic performance of the diesel engine decreases, so light diesel oil with low condensation point and good ignition performance should be selected in winter. Generally, it is required that the freezing point of the diesel engine should be lower than the local minimum temperature of the current season by 7-10°C.
Started with an open flame
In places where the temperature is too low, an open flame can be used to start the machine, but the air filter should not be removed. Cotton yarn is dipped in diesel fuel and ignited, and then it is made into a ignition and placed in the intake pipe to carry out combustion starting. In this way, during the start-up process, the dusty air from the outside world will be directly sucked into the cylinder without filtration, resulting in abnormal wear and tear of pistons, cylinders and other parts, and will also cause the diesel engine to work roughly and damage the machine.
Drain the water too early or not put the cooling water
The generator runs at idle speed before shutting down, and when the cooling water temperature drops below 60°C and the water is not hot, then turn off the fire and release the water. If the cooling water is discharged too early, the body will suddenly shrink and crack when the temperature is high. When discharging water, the remaining water in the body should be completely discharged, so as to prevent it from freezing and expanding, causing the body to expand and burst. Shun Jinxing here suggests that users should use antifreeze no matter what season it is, and the more high-end generator sets, the more antifreeze should be used. Because antifreeze not only plays a cooling role, but also protects the diesel engine.
Choose a low-viscosity oil
When choosing an oil for a diesel generator set in winter, you should try to choose an oil with low viscosity. After the temperature drops sharply, the viscosity of the engine oil will increase, which may be greatly affected during cold starting, resulting in poor start of the generator set. Therefore, it is advisable to choose a less viscous oil during the winter months.
Startup method
In winter, it is best to assemble a water jacket heater for the generator, which can keep the machine at a certain "body temperature" and can be easily operated at any time. In order to be able to quickly start the diesel generator set, some operators often use the abnormal starting method of waterless start (start first, then add cooling water). This practice can cause serious damage to the machine and should be prohibited. The correct preheating method is to cover the insulation quilt on the water tank, open the water valve, continuously inject 60-70 °C clean soft water into the water tank, touch the water from the water discharge valve with your hand and feel hot, and then close the water release valve, and then start it.
Precautions for low temperature with load
After the diesel generator set starts up and catches fire, some operators can't wait to put it into load immediately. The diesel engine that has not been on fire for a short time, due to the low temperature of the body and the high viscosity of the oil, the oil is not easy to charge into the moving friction surface, which will cause serious wear and tear of the machine. In addition, plunger springs, valve springs, and injector springs are also prone to breakage due to "cold brittleness". Therefore, after the diesel generator starts to catch fire in winter, it should be idled at low to medium speed for a few minutes, and then put into load operation when the cooling water temperature reaches 60 °C.
