2025-10-20Browse Index:320

Generator set is important power equipment widely used in industrial and emergency scenarios. Therefore, safe operating procedures are very important. The following introduction is provided for users' reference.

Generator set

1. Pre-Operation Protocols of Generator set
Inspection: Verify fuel/oil/coolant levels and battery connections. Check for leaks or corrosion on the generator set housing.
Environment: Ensure 2-meter clearance around the unit. Confirm exhaust vents are unobstructed to prevent CO poisoning.

2. Startup & Runtime Measures
Dry-run Test: Engage the Generator set without load to detect abnormal vibrations or noises.
Load Management: Gradually increase electrical load, avoiding abrupt surges exceeding 80% capacity.
Monitoring: Continuously observe voltage/frequency meters. Discolored wiring or overheating parts mandate immediate shutdown.

3. Emergency Protocols
Fire Response: Use Class C extinguishers for electrical fires near the Generator set. Never water.
Fuel Spills: Contain spills with absorbent materials; avoid ignition sources within 10 meters.

4. Shutdown & Maintenance of Generator set
Cooling Phase: Allow the Generator set to idle for 3 minutes before switching off to stabilize temperatures.
Lockout/Tagout: Isolate the unit from power sources during maintenance with visible warning tags.

Strict adherence to these procedures mitigates operational risks while optimizing Generator set performance. Regular staff training and logbook documentation are strongly advised.
