If the water tank is not drained, the risk of freezing will be greatly increased, which will affect the reliability and stability of the generator set. If the generator set cannot start normally due to the freezing of the water tank, it will bring serious losses to the user. Therefore, draining the tank in winter ensures that the generator set can operate reliably when needed.

Due to the low ambient temperature, the cooling water should be discharged after 15 minutes of shutdown and when the water temperature drops, and should not be carried out immediately. Otherwise, due to the large temperature difference between the fuselage and the external environment, some parts of the diesel generator set will be deformed, which will affect the performance of the diesel engine, such as the deformation of the cylinder head.

When the cooling water stops flowing out, it is best to shake the diesel generator set a few more times, so that the remaining and not easy to flow out of the cooling water will be exhausted due to the vibration of the diesel engine, so as to prevent the water plug on the cylinder head from being frozen and avoid the cooling water from flowing into the oil shell in the future. At the same time, it should be noted that if the water discharge switch is not removed, the water discharge switch should be turned on after the water discharge is completed, so as to prevent the remaining cooling water from flowing out for a while due to various reasons, thereby freezing the corresponding parts of the diesel engine and causing unnecessary losses.
