What are the hazards of the incorrect starting mode of the generator set

Many diesel generator set operators don't know how to start the generator set correctly, so let's briefly elaborate on the following incorrect starting methods, and how much damage this way causes to the generator set!

1. If there is no cooling water after starting the diesel generator without water or boiling water start, the temperature of the cylinder assembly, cylinder head and body and other parts will rise sharply. However, if boiling water of about 100°C is added to the cold body before starting, it will also crack the cylinder head, body and cylinder liner and other parts, so you should wait until the water temperature drops to 60-70°C.
2. The cold trailer starts the diesel generator in the cold car state and the oil viscosity is high to force the trailer to start, which will aggravate the wear between the moving parts of the diesel engine, thereby reducing the service life of the diesel engine.
3. The oil pan is baked with an open flame, and the oil pan is sprayed with strong fire, which is easy to cause local deformation of the oil pan or deterioration of the oil in the oil pan. Therefore, the oil in the heated oil pan should be heated with a special heater (or steam) while slowly rotating the oil shaft to evenly heat the oil and lubricate all parts.
4. Long-term use of glow plug or flame preheater The heating element of the glow plug or flame preheater is an electric heating wire, which consumes a lot of electricity and heat, and the battery can be damaged due to rapid discharge for a long time, and the heating wire can also be burned out. Therefore, the continuous use time of the glow plug should not exceed 1min, and the continuous use time of the flame preheater should be controlled within 30s.
5. Directly pour gasoline into the intake pipe, the ignition point of gasoline is lower than that of diesel, and it burns first than diesel. Therefore, directly pouring gasoline into the intake pipe will make the diesel generator work rough and produce a strong knocking phenomenon, and in serious cases, the diesel engine can also be reversed.
6. Excessive use of ether and ether can effectively improve the starting performance of diesel engine. However, excessive use of ether will cause abnormal damage to diesel engine cylinder components, cylinder heads, etc. At the same time, it will also greatly shorten the service life of diesel generators.
7. Increase the throttle to start the generator, and do not increase the throttle when the generator starts. Generally, the throttle is placed in the idle position. But in order to make the diesel generator start quickly, many people slam the gas pedal before or during the start. The disadvantages of this practice are: (1) Waste of fuel. Excess diesel oil will wash over the cylinder wall, deteriorating the lubrication between the piston, piston rings and cylinder liners, and exacerbating wear; Residual oil flowing into the oil pan will dilute the oil and reduce the lubrication effect; Incomplete combustion of too much diesel in the cylinder can lead to the formation of carbon deposits. (2) After the diesel engine starts at high throttle, the speed may increase rapidly, which will cause greater damage to the moving parts (aggravate wear or cause failure such as pulling cylinders).
8. Do not change oil and fuel oil according to the seasonIn the cold season, if you do not change the oil and fuel with low viscosity in time, the generator will be difficult to start or will not start at all. Even if the force start is successful, it can cause immeasurable damage to the diesel generator.
9. If the intake pipe ignition is started at the inlet pipe of the diesel generator, the ash and hard debris produced by the combustion of the substance will be sucked into the cylinder, which is easy to cause the intake and exhaust valves to be closed loosely and strain the cylinder.
10. Directly add the oil to the cylinder The oil is added to the cylinder, although it can play the role of sealing pressurization and heating, which is convenient for the generator to start cold, but the oil can not be completely burned, and it is easy to produce carbon deposits, so that the elasticity of the piston ring is weakened, and the sealing performance of the cylinder is reduced. In addition, it will accelerate the wear of the cylinder liner, which will lead to a decrease in the power of the generator, making it more difficult to start, so it is not possible to add oil directly to the cylinder.
